A Winter Visit

13 year ago I met Lisa Anderson in summer school. The summer before our Freshman year at Notre Dame. We had to catch up with all the other smarty pants who got into private school. We ended up playing volleyball together freshman year and we were pretty much inseparable ever since. We had our normal high school fights but something always brought us back together. We had numerous sleep overs, where we ate way too much ice cream and Chinese food. We were the cut ups at school bringing whoopee cushions and fart goo to class. We went to Washington DC together and ran track together for 4 years. After high school Lisa went to Fresno state and I moved to Utah. 13 years later Lisa is a special ed teacher and going to grad school. We are still best friends and I love her so much. When your around your best friend they just bring out a certain side of you. By no means do I want to go back to high school ever BUT being silly and reminiscing about being 15 and 16 is so much fun! I think it is rare to have a friendship that last more than 10 years, and I'm so grateful that ours has. Thanks for coming to visit Lisa loo, your the best!

Big Springs Winter Hike

I have been wanting to go on a winter hike for weeks! Jared and I decided to hit up our favorite spot Big Springs and check it out. We came equipped with snow shoes but didn't need them. The trail was packed down and we did just fine in our hiking boots. We couldn't have asked for a better day, it was so beautiful. Rosie got some much needed exercise, and so did we. I had gone to a tabata class that morning (its a strength training class), and let me just tell you. I was SO sore. I may have over done it a bit, I had a hard time walking the next day and maybe the rest of the week.

Christmas

Christmas seemed like such a whirlwind! I think it was a  combination of stressing over last minute gifts for Jared, making lemon loaf for my neighbors and ornaments for all 92 primary kids. Everything was done on time and Jared and I had a great Christmas Eve and day just with our little family. We got Chinese take out for dinner on Christmas eve watched a movie and wrapped gifts for Ellie. Christmas morning went exactly how I wanted it to. I couldn't resist a plush rocking horse for her. I envisioned our Christmas morning with the rocking horse set up in front of the tree, Ellie walking in and B lining  to the horse. Well that is exactly what happened and my heart was so so happy. Christmas was so fun this year with Ellie, she tore open her gifts like a pro. We definitely spoiled her, but I just couldn't help it. She wont always be an only child so I will spoil her while I can. I was very easy to please this year. All I really wanted was a new water bottle and some wool socks. I figured Jared would get me 2 or 3 pairs, nope he got me 6. Now my feet will be warm everyday! He also surprised me with a waffle iron, so we immediately tried it out and had waffles for breakfast with the delicious humboldt medley jam from Mary and Ric (Thank you!). I got Jared work clothes and a vintage camera to add to our little collection. We had such a relaxing day, Ellie was in a daze with all her new toys, we napped and took a walk, we loved every minute of it!

Merry Christmas Yall!!
