Mount Ogden Hike

I've been looking forward to hiking Mount Ogden with our hiking group. It was a great day and a beautiful hike despite having a head cold. I just couldn't let my cold make me miss this hike. I know if I hadn't been sick the whole trip would have been a little more enjoyable but it was still great. We started in Beaus Canyon with is jammed thick full of fern.  As we continued to gain elevation we saw lots of wild flowers and we were able to catch a view of the air show happening. Maybe the worst part of the hike was the last little bit to the top. It was rocky and steep and I was tired. The view was well worth it! I hiked with my new hiking polls which were awesome but a little hard to get use to. We hiked back down the back side to Snowbasin Resort where we ate lunch and caught the tram back down where a few ladies had parked cars the night before. We hike a total of about 9 miles. We were sweaty and dusty and tired but we were full of burgers and fries by the end of it. It was a great day!

Summer Kick Start

We really kicked off summer at the beginning of June. We pulled the pool out of the garage, our hiking club in our ward started and our garden started to make some movement.

We automated our sprinklers this year, which makes watering so much easier. There is still a lot of work to be done before our sprinklers are up to date but it was a good start.

Our ladies hiking club started up and it has been so much fun. I've been able to get to know ladies better and explore the local trails some more. Last summer is was too pregnant to hike so I'm really excited I get to participate this year!

Jared has been super busy with freelance photography. Lots of interior real estate with the parade of homes in full swing.

We finally finished painting our kitchen cabinets. We loved the way they turned out. The Valspar chalk paint worked great. I still have dreams of changing the back splash and painting the walls, but for now the new white cabinets are perfect!

We spent the rest of the month dealing with a newly mobile Lucy. She is crawling all over the house and it's so fun.

We planned and then cancelled another camping trip. Turns out it was going to be way too hot in central Utah.

My summer goal is to simplify. It's too hard to go places with Lucy who just wants to crawl around and eat everything. We are going to be staying home a lot and I'm perfectly okay with it. Ellie might not be but she will get use to it.

May

May is always exciting. We get to plant our garden, everything starts blooming, the weather is usually perfect minus the random snow or hail storms.

We spent as much time outside as we possible could. We working the the yard, got our veggies planted and watched our seeds come up.

This years garden includes bell peppers, jalepenos, tomatoes, basil, corn, green beans and green and yellow zucchini.

I started hiking with a group of ladies from our ward. It's been so much fun. Good exercise, good views, good company and conversation.

The view from the top of Malan's peak. really steep hike but totally worth the view.

Girls night in Salt Lake to welcome Tasha back to the United States!

Waterfall Canyon Hike

Out exploring the Riverdale parkway.

and the Ogden River Parkway

Lucy started crawling and pulling herself up on the furniture. Life just got a lot more interesting.

Went to the new Waffle Love store that opened up on 25th street. Yum!

I was amazed at the flowers I was able to pick from my own garden this year.

Lucy cut 4 top teeth all at once. I feel like the month of May and June were spent dealing with fussy Lucy. Poor thing was so cranky cutting all those teeth. I was sleepless nights for all of us.
