Larkin's in Utah

We really love when my parents come to town. This time they came and Ross, Lynsie and Oliver came a week later. We loved having everyone here and showing Ross and Lynsie the best that Utah has to offer.

I had to document Ellie making scrambled eggs. She really likes to help in the kitchen and I am often surprised with what she is capable of doing. Being a chef is one of her future aspirations among other things.

We went to the State fair for the first time this year. We ate corn dogs and saw all the farm animals we skipped the carnival rides and just did a pony ride instead.

Every time I do something with the kids that I have a memory of from my childhood I have this weird out of body experience. Going to the fair and looking at the animals was one of them. I'm also extremely emotional when I see my kids spending quality time with my parents. Watching my dad show Ellie all the animals and teach her about them brought tear to my eyes.

In the midst of my parents visiting we celebrated our 7 year anniversary and Jared's Birthday! We sure are lucky to have this guy around. He works extremely hard for us and I am forever grateful!

Ellie and Cousin Oliver on a stroller ride. We may have woken up neighborhood, they were not very happy.

We showed Ross and Lynsie around Salt Lake and temple square then drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon and Silver Lake was really showing off for us. We caught the fall colors right in time. A big storm moved in as we were driving down the canyon, we got back to Ogden to find out there had been a tornado in South Ogden. Yikes!

Mirror Lake

Mirror Lake and Provo River Falls has been on my Utah bucket list for a long time. I planned a day trip, filled the cooler and finally made it happen. It was such a beautiful drive. We scoped out some future camping spots, saw the falls and walked half way around Mirror lake. We stopped by the outlets in park city on the way back and got Ellie two winter jackets for $45 so it was a successful day!
