Jared has been having mini photo sessions this week and the proceeds go to a family we know of who is in financial need. Ellie and I usually like to tag along and hang out. These shoots have been at the American Fork Amphitheater. This is a beautiful place to shoot. I'm still working on my photography skill, and I'm shooting manual so that's a plus. It would be nice to have a chance to shoot someone who sits still, Ellie never stops!

Ellie had her first hard spill this last week on some concrete resulting in a shiner on her forehead.
This weekend adventure was just what we needed! Jared has been going to Brighton for years, in the winter to go snowboarding. We were both amazed at the beauty that lies beneath the snow. Jared is shooting a wedding at Brighton this weekend so we went to scope it out. We ended up doing a 1 mile hike to Lake Mary. This was a hard mile people, up up up hill. We seriously couldn't get over how beautiful it was up there, and the weather was perfect too. We were almost embarrassed that we didn't know how amazing the hiking was up here. Another perk, it was practically free, minus a few snacks and burger on the way home. This day was pure perfection!
This is what life is all about. Spending time with my family making memories.
Speaking of memories, boy did we make one! We saw moose! So this is how it went. We went down the hike around Silver Lake, there is a trail around the whole lake and it's kind of a marshy/wetland area. Well I walked about 15 yards away from Jared and he was taking a picture of the scenery. I hear him saw "Lynn, Lynn, come here, hurry!" I turn and walk towards him and he gestures for me to run. Well there was a male moose running towards me. I guess it was more just running in my direction not at me, but never the less, I was scared! Apparently moose frequent the Silver Lake area, it was so cool. A female followed after the male and they just trotted across the meadow. It was so awesome!
Well, summer is in full swing. We had a lazy Saturday. I went on a long run, then Jared went on a long bike ride. Isn't that what summer is all about? Having absolutely nothing to do and nowhere to go and going on a 25 mile bike ride because you can! We barbecued hot dogs and hung out outside. The evenings are just amazing during the summer. Our garden is doing great, however it has been invaded by ANTS! They are in the soil and have pretty much killed my cilantro plant. I tried sprinkling a mixture of sugar and borax to kill them, but it's hasn't seemed to work. The peppers and tomato are still going strong. So proud of my veggies!
