Highway 1 South

Driving south on Highway 1 down the coast is pretty hard to describe. The pictures speak for themselves. 

Jared had never been further than Carmel, so we took a drive. We headed down to Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. Better known as the place where there is a waterfall on a beach. I don't know if we could have asked for a more beautiful day. I say it over and over but I am so happy this is what I have to come home to. I grew up in an amazingly beautiful place and I'm happy I still get to go home to visit. 

Ellie + Fish = LOVE

My reasoning for going to Salinas was...we should take Ellie to the Aquarium for her birthday. Not any old aquarium would do, we had to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Lets just say this was the day that Ellie's LOVE for fish began! I am not kidding. She signs fish all the time, talks about fish swimming, she is obsessed with sea lions and does the noise perfectly. She can't stop playing with the ocean animal toys we picked up at the gift shop, and "Finding Nemo" has become her FAVORITE movie. She will describe the whale eating Nemo's dad to you all day.  I love that this little girl loves the ocean. And now here is a picture over load from our day in Monterey. Gosh I love this place, this was an absolutely perfect day!

Ellie literally walked/ran around the aquarium for 2 hours. The picture below was maybe 5 minutes after we got in the car. So tired!

Had to get some calamari, tentacles and all. YUM!
