Conference Weekend

I think we may have started a new tradition this year. October conference lands right at the peak of fall in Utah, I really wanted to listen to conference, but I also really wanted to see the fall colors. So we packed the kids in the car and drove over Guardman's Pass to Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was so perfect. I have a hard time focusing on conference when I'm at home, there are a lot of distractions i.e. kids. Being in the car was actually really nice, Ellie was quiet and we were able to listen. We got to Silver lake right as the first session ended, took a hike around the lake, drove down the canyon, grabbed some lunch and were back in the car driving home as the afternoon session started. We got home to chicken soup cooking in the crock pot. It was a perfect day.

Thanks to Gideon and Katie for finding this picture.

This is Carrie Lucile Sorenson, Grandma Jeanie's Grandma. They called her Grandma Lucy. We knew we were going to use Jean as the middle name after Grandma Jeanie, as for Lucy we didn't know until a month before Lucy was born that it was actually a family name as well. It worked out so well!
