New Projects

Our home is a work in progress. We are always finding way to make it better or new pieces of furniture to add. Our latest project was this cute bench. We found it at the DI for $25. It was bright pink so we sanded and painted it and added the wood detail on the front. Jared and I had been looking for a bench for this spot and we totally lucked out and found it at DI. Its absolutely perfect and I love it! I also mod podged our coffee table. I was so excited that we found an old Child Craft book at the DI and so I used some of the book pages. The book was exactly the look I was going for so I was excited to find it. Plus Jared and I both grew up reading those books so it has some meaning behind it. I think it turned out great!

Oh Rosie

This is what happens when you have a puppy and leave the bathroom door open. Rosie is about 4 months old now, and we cant believe how big she had gotten. Now dont think she does stuff like this all the time. For the most part she is pretty good, she is listening better and we are trying to teach her some new commands. We are taking her with us on our 12 hour car ride to Salinas, so that should be interesting..... Jared and I are hoping she behaves herself at my parents house. We love having her and she is so popular. Every time we take her walking it never fails that someone stops and asks what kind of dog she is and tells us how beautiful she is :) She is beautiful isnt she. Oh Rosie your a joy to have.

4th of July

Jared and I had such a crazy week, so by the time the weekend rolled around we were both so tired. So the 4th of July wasn't too exciting for us, we actually fell asleep before the fireworks even started. We did manage to go on a little hike up the canyon behind out house with Rosie. Rosie played in the river and it was really funny to watch. We went up and visited Hannah on Sunday which was really fun too! That sums up our 4th of July...I know not very exciting :)

A little project

This is a project Jared and I started a few weeks ago. We found this dresser/vanity in a storage unit behind our house, it was just sitting back there and the guy who owns the unit said we could have it. We painted and put a crackle finish on it. These are the before pictures, its not quit finished so there should be some after pictures up soon. We also has this old houser cabinet on our porch when we moved in. We decided to make it into a potting table. Also finished pictures will be up soon. Jared and I had a blast working on this project together, and had way to much fun at the hardware store.

Gardening

Some of you may know that I am working at a garden center called Sun River Gardens, its really fun and definitely inspires me to start gardening. What also inspires me is my employee discount :) While at the book store reading books on herb gardening I was surprised to see that you can plant in just about anything that you can drill some holes into. I planted flowers in a broken watering can from work, and some galvanized tins. Miriam found a great window box at Savers and a few others. We had a blast shopping for plants and we definitely have the planting bug. The one thing I have found challenging is.....(and im sure all the Californians can agree)...gardening in Utah is a lot different. Things that grow like wildfire in California cant grow here, things that are perennials in California are annuals here. Its a little frustrating but I learning a lot, and having fun starting a little garden of my own...even if its just in some pots.

Finished Project

This project has definitely taken me a long time to finish. When I heard that Sarah was having a baby I wanted to make her a baby blanket. I chose the colors I did because they would work for a boy or a girl. This is the first baby blanket I have made were I did the squares, so it was a little more challenging but I am happy with the result! I have been working on this on and off and Im finally finished, and it was perfect timing now that Matilda is here. :)

My name is Rosie

Hello, my name is Rosie and I have a new home. I discovered that if I poo and pee anywhere in the house and bark and whine all night and chew on things I shouldn't, the punishment becomes a lot less severe when I look at people like this while they're cleaning it up. These people are so easy to manipulate, it's almost fun just to see how they melt when I lay on the charm after I've just laid a load on their bedroom floor. When that gets boring I'll start going outside to do it.
